Cycle recap 4/4/18 + What I Wore

Hey ya’ll, happy Friday! I’m here today to give you the run down on the cycle classes I taught this Wednesday. We really felt the burn this week…in more than one way. High calorie burn and eeek high temps at one point too. Our spring  “Bikini or Bust” challenge at Zen starts this coming Monday, April 9 but the clients weren’t going to wait to get started…both classes were full! Full classes are the best for a lot of reasons…but the main one is that people = energy, and the more people there are in a class, the higher the energy! Another highlight from this week was that I had a couple of first time riders and I always like to hear their feedback and perspective after class. Here is this week’s playlist and layout:

Jungle”- X Ambassadors—jog with choreography, moderate resistance

No Air” Jordin Sparks, Chris Brown—jog with choreo, slightly heavier resistance

Down”- Fifth Harmony – fast jog, light resistance

Feel Good (Feat. Daya)-Brooks Remix”- Gryffin– Sprints, light resistance

The Weekend- Funk Wav Remix”- SZA—arms

Back to You- Digital Farm Animals & Louis Tomlinson Remis”- Louis Tomlinson—fast jumps, light resistance

Everybody Hates Me”- The Chainsmokers- jog with choreo, moderate resistance

River”- Bishop Briggs- Climb with choreo, added resistance

Too Close”- Primo- weighted sprints heavy resistance

Up All Night”- ARTY- arms

I Wanna Know”- RL Grime- jog with choreo, moderate resistance

More-RedOne Jimmy Joker Remix”- Usher- sprints, light resistance

I like Me Better- Recorded at Spotify”- Lauv- cool down

If you’ve been reading along for past class recaps (thank you!), some of these songs may look familiar. They are! Most of this week’s playlist was a mixture of songs I’ve used in the last month. I like to reuse songs and their same choreography a time or two, because people respond to success! What I’m saying is, a jog with more complex choreography or a faster tempo is challenging (read: it is SUPPOSED to be challenging!) If I use the same song and choreo again clients who rode it the first time always do better with it the next time. It’s less intimidating when you know what to expect when a familiar song comes on! In fact, a new client who came to her first class last week came back this Wednesday and confirmed to me what I’ve told you here. She said “When that Chainsmokers song came on, I knew what was coming and I was ready this time!” She nailed that choreo too. Go girl!

The other highlight of the week is that I’m a little bit of a diva when it comes to being hot. If you know me, you know this. Don’t get me wrong, I like high intensity workouts because I like to sweat…I just prefer to do it with a slight breeze blowing haha! Anyhow, our air was out in the spin room of our location for my 7 pm class and it was warmer than usual. It was NOT a miserable furnace situation, just noticeably “less cool” than our usual temp in there. Air should be back up and running ASAP…they had already put a call in when I asked about it. Luckily I survived the heat 😉 and the extra sweat had me burning more cals. #winning

Now, lets talk threads. These Capris are new and I love the level of compression and how high of a waist they have! They are my first pair of leggings with pockets and oh my gosh what a game changer that is! How am I so late to the pocket game!? Have you bought some yet? Also, praise hands for casual chic tops that can be doubled as athletic wear…am I right?! I got this top last year from American Eagle, but never fear I found you a perfect option right Here! Last but not least, never underestimate the power of a bomber to take you from the gym to happy hour with the gals. This one is sold out but they have various other fab options on their site. Happy shopping, and as always thanks for reading! I have been researching and working on bringing more content to you all and I would love for you to drop a comment and let me know what you have liked and disliked from The Bold Condition so far. What would you like to see more of? I have been so grateful for the amount of support I have received since launching this project, but now I want to hear directly from you guys how I can serve you best! All comments received with an open mind and grateful heart. Hope you all have a great weekend!
